Frontier Van Lines 5 Golden Rules For Easy Moving

1. Understand your moving quote.

Misunderstandings often happen with pricing and long distance delivery dates.

Pricing - Accurate pricing is a very important element of any successful move. Ask your experienced Relocation Consultant for factors the can affect the estimate.

Long Distance Delivery Options – Frontier Van Lines offers 3 delivery options as follows:

1. Direct Delivery – This is when the movers load your belongings and begin the drive directly to your new home.

2. Guaranteed Delivery – This is when you are not readily available to accept delivery but want a specific date of delivery.

3. Split Shipment – This is the most popular option, the MOST ECONOMICAL option and is often cheaper that renting your own truck. However, it does require patience on your part. Ask your Relocation Consultant about the average time it takes to deliver your belongings to your new home.

2. Understand Valuation versus Full Replacement Value Insurance

We do not live in a perfect world and damages do happen even to the best movers.

Frontier Van Lines provides you, at no extra charge, a basic valuation of 60 cents per pound per item - up to $10,000.00. This means that if any items we move are damaged, destroyed or lost, you are eligible to file a claim with our company requesting a reimbursement rate of 60 cents per pound. For instance, if a dining table is damaged during the move and the average weight of a dining table is 100 pounds, you would be eligible to file a claim for $60.00. (100 pounds x 60 cents/lb = $60.00) The valuations, in most cases, does not provide you with compensation for the actual replacement value of the item.

Full Replacement Value insurance is just that – if an item is damaged, destroyed or lost during a move, you would be eligible to file a claim for the actual replacement value of the item as long as you chose to cover your items at 100% replacement value.

We suggest you contact your homeowners/ renters insurance company and ask them what your policy will cover in regards to your move.

If your insurance company does not offer you replacement value coverage for your move, please contact Baker Insurance http://www.bakerintl.com.

CAUTION: Some moving companies will add $10,000 or $15,000 replacement value insurance for several hundred dollars to your charges. Rarely is this a sufficient level of insurance. For example, if your dining room table was damaged by that company and you file a claim for the actual replacement value cost of $3000.00, the insurance company would investigate and find that you only opted for a percentage of replacement value and compensate you on that percentage NOT on the first $10,000 or $15,000 in damages.

3. Do not ship personal items such as:

Jewelry - Passports - Keys - Medication - Medical Devices - Social Security Cards - Drivers Licenses - Wills - Checkbooks - Medical Records, etc. Trying to find one item in a truck full of furniture and boxes is nearly impossible!

4. Notify us with any changes in the items you wish to move.

Frontier Van Lines prides ourselves with providing accurate estimates based on the information you provide us in regards to the items to be moved. Please notify your Relocation Consultant as soon as possible if there will be any significant changes to the items you wish to move. (Adding items, in most cases, will add to the cost of your move!)

5. Be optimistic and get a good night sleep before the move
